ABOUT MICHAEL A. CAPOGNA, D.C.
Dr. Michael A. Capogna is a board-certified chiropractor who grew up in North Massapequa. During his summer breaks from college, he worked with his father in construction where he severely injured his lower back. A chiropractor was the only doctor able to relieve his pain and get him back on his feet. This sparked his interest in the field. He completed his Bachelors degree in Psychology at St. John's University in Jamaica, New York and continued his education at Palmer University of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he graduated with honors in 1991.
Upon graduation, Dr. Capogna worked as an associate doctor for three years. He then opened his own practice in Wantagh in 1994 after a complete renovation of his location at 3094 North Jerusalem Road.
Dr. Capogna is a Life Member of the Wantagh Fire Department where he served as an emergency medical technician from 1995 - 2005. During his time with the department, Dr. Capogna held the positions of Trustee of Company 2, Lieutenant of Rescue 2 and was in charge of research and development of new ambulance equipment. As Fire Medic, he received many awards, including The Nassau Regional EMS Provider of the Year in 1999 and the Commissioners Award from the Nassau County Police Department in 2001.
